An explosion occurred at around 8:00 PM at the Tüpraş Refinery in Aliağa, İzmir.
It was reported that the explosion took place in the crude oil furnace. According to Evrensel, there were no injuries in the incident.
In a statement from Tüpraş, it was noted: “At around 8:00 PM this evening, a fire broke out in one of our Crude Oil Units at our İzmir Refinery. The unit was shut down, and our refinery technical teams, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant official authorities, intervened in the incident. The fire has been brought under control and extinguished. None of our colleagues were affected by the incident. Operations in our other units continue.”
