Bosphorus Traffic Suspended for 'Missing Siblings'

Maritime traffic in the Bosphorus Strait has been temporarily suspended in both directions as part of the search operation for two siblings who fell into the sea and went missing in Istanbul's Sarıyer district. The search efforts are ongoing.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure stated:
"Due to the search operations for the two siblings who fell into the sea in Sarıyer, maritime traffic in the Bosphorus Strait has been temporarily suspended in both directions."

WHAT HAPPENED?
On Saturday, November 23, while walking in Sarıyer, a woman fell into the sea while taking a photo. Her companion jumped into the water to save her. Both disappeared shortly afterward. The Coast Guard, Marine Police, and divers from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) were dispatched to the scene.

The moments when the woman fell and her sibling jumped in to rescue her were captured by the security camera of a nearby boat. It was revealed that the siblings were visiting the city for a vacation.
